9 August 2013

Alright I know it's a little late to post right now, but i have been caught up with other stuff recently. But anyway, moving on, the 9th of August is the date when Singapore turned independant. And every year people all over the island come and gather at the floating platform for the national day parade for a good sense of patriotism and comradery. Likewise I too, wanted to join in the celebration with a few of my close friends. The day started off with us watching The Conjuring ( not exactly the best way to start the day), but was a pretty good movie. Then we we decided to wander around the shopping centres around marina bay, get some food and wait until it was almost time for the celebration. Next we bought some more food and went to camp on the grass patch beside the WW2 war memorial to watch the fireworks. This brings back great memories as my friend and I have done this last year too. The day ended with the beautiful fireworks and us taking a walk and hanging around the esplanade and marina bay sands shopping mall until late. I was an eventful dat with much to remember, forging comradery

The art of doing nothing

If one could just care for a moment and take a break from our ridiculously hectic lives and look up towards the sky or take a stroll through the neighbourhood. Usually we tend to tell ourselves to work a little harder and a little faster so we can have some time for ourselves, but in actual fact when we do get the time, we jump straight back to work. We humans should start to learn to take a break. As u stroll around , let your senses guide you. Once you done that you will start to notice and appreaciate all sorts of things you often and easily miss. You will start to find beauty in the smallest things. Buy an ice cream cone and sit on a bench in the park, or anywhere you want in this case. Pleasure is found in the most unexpected places. The art of relaxation, i believe is to simply do nothing, and enjoying the peace and athmosphere. Take a moment and look up to the sky, breathe in the athmosphere and let yourself transcend into deep thought. You will be surprised by how we often miss nature's vast and timeless beauties. Do not look for beauty but instead let it come to you naturally. Doing nothing is not always a bad thing but instead u are getting what others reject, which is
priceless. Here are some pictures i took while doing so.
